Orleton Ecology Group follows in the footsteps of an earlier ecology group, and includes many of the same people, and also picks up the trail from the recent after-school Eco Club, so ably organised by Ian, assisted by the usual suspects, who are now turning into citizen scientists. We hope the school children will participate in some of the activities.
The current aim is to promote biodiversity in the village in various ways, always mindful of the needs of farming and flood management. Thanks are due to the Orleton Parish Council, Severn Rivers Trust, and the Environment Agency for their encouragement.
Do use the contact form to let us know if you would like to be part of this. Activities are currently under development, and the first one is likely to study life in in Brimfield Brook. There will be a range of ways in which volunteers can help: not everyone has to get wet! The website is also developing gradually, so ideas and suggestions are welcome.
